Iowa Hospital CEO Women’s Retreat

This retreat is by invitation only and registration is free of charge thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. Advance registration is required so we can plan accordingly and make this a special event.
To give you one less thing to do, we will make your hotel reservation for you when you register for the retreat. However, your hotel bill is your responsibility and not complimentary.

To say the past two+ years have been stressful and challenging is an understatement. You’ve faced challenges beyond comprehension while working incredibly long hours putting safety for your hospital patients, employees and community at the forefront of your mind. Many women in leadership have never felt more isolated navigating unknown territory professionally with little time to connect with other likeminded colleagues to share best practices, strategize next steps, communicate needs and to simply support one another.  Thank you so much for all you’ve done during this global pandemic and time of social unrest.

As an offering of support, we have collaborated with Christine Watkins Davies, founder and CEO of New Growth Coaching in Denver, Colorado, to facilitate a much-needed RETREAT.  Join us for some time to deactivate and destress, while also engaging in conversation and collaboration on topics that are oftentimes unique to women in leadership.  We will dive into the following topics while in a comfortable and supportive environment:-

  • The Double Bind for women in leadership.
  • Imposter Syndrome and what to do when it shows up.
  • Armored Leadership vs. Daring Leadership- how and why do we armor up as women?
  • Resiliency practices.
  • Values and how they can light our way in dark times.
  • Visioning and it’s benefits.
  • Connection through sharing our successes, challenges and needs for support.
  • Roles of Mentors, Coaches & Advocates:  Do we have them?  Are we in these roles for other women?

Please be sure to dress very casually.  You are not at work and comfort is a must!  Jeans, t-shirts, yoga pants or even your cozy fall flannels are absolutely encouraged and welcomed at this retreat.  Arrive with the intention of RECEIVING support.  This is for you!

Wednesday, October 26

6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Welcome Reception and Sound Bath
After checking into the hotel and getting your things settled, join us for some food and drinks. We’ll catch up and set the mood for our time together.

6:30 - 7:15 p.m. Sound Bath (optional activity)
For those who wish to try something new and destress at the same time, Melodie Polansky has created a sound bath experience that produces tranquility and peace using tones that help focus the energy. When sound waves wash over us, they relax the body, reduce anxiety, and improve creativity.
