UNI nursing program approved by regents. To help address nursing staffing shortages, the Iowa Board of Regents approved the University of Northern Iowa’s proposal to plan, develop and implement a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

IHA advocacy team weekly round up. Several hospital champions were elected to the Iowa legislature in Tuesday’s midterm elections, and the IHA advocacy team is looking forward to establishing relations with newly elected lawmakers.

IHA information center celebrates growth during health information meeting. IHA’s Information Center updated members of the Council on Health Information about its latest partnerships during its council meeting Thursday, Nov. 10. IHA has implemented or signed contracts for nine various partnerships during 2022.

Thank you to the 2022 Iowa Hospital Heroes. IHA and Iowa hospitals are grateful to our hospital staff who ensure hospitals provide quality care every day. Twelve hospital heroes were recognized at IHA’s 2022 Annual Meeting, and each is being highlighted in IHA Today.

UI offering COVID-19 vaccine confidence series. The University of Iowa Prevention Research Center for Rural Health received funding from the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop a training series reviewing the importance of COVID-19 vaccines.
