Department of Labor addresses nursing shortage through grant. The U.S. Department of Labor is addressing bottlenecks in nurse training through its new Nursing Expansion Grant Program.

Nurse education professional track. This program is increasing the number of nursing instructors and educators by training new or experienced current or former nurses, including retired nurses, into advanced post-secondary credentialing needed for nurses to become instructors and educators.

Nursing career pathways track. It trains nurses as frontline health care professionals and paraprofessionals to advance through a career pathway and gain the postsecondary credentials needed for middle- to high-skilled nursing positions.

Staff well-being top concern in AONL study. Staff emotional health and well-being, retention and the cost of travel nurses are the top challenges facing nurse leaders according to the latest study by the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
