Workforce funding available to Iowa hospitals and health systems. Iowa hospitals and health systems continue to struggle with a health care workforce shortage, but federal and state funding can help lessen the burden. 

COVID-19 accelerated and payment recovery rate to increase. 28. In accordance with the requirements of the 2021 Continuing Appropriations Act and Other Extensions Act, the 25% automatic recoupment rate for the COVID-19 accelerated and payment recovery will stay in place for the first 11 months of the recoupment period.

IHA members encouraged to attend AHA’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C. For the first time since 2019, the American Hospital Association will hold its annual meeting in person in Washington, D.C.

IHA’S 2022 Governance Forum looks at impact of COVID-19. The 2022 IHA Governance Forum will help answer, “Where do we go from here?” as hospital trustees look to build for their organization’s long-term success. 

Registration open for EMTALA web series. The three-part Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act web series will help hospitals better understand problematic areas of the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act and the adequacy of medical screening and on-call physician issues.

Wade Weis named CEO at Buchanan County Health in Independence. The Buchanan County Health Board of Trustees named Wade Weis as its new CEO effective Feb. 23.

Stacy Johnson, Loring Hospital CEO/CFO, announces resignation. Stacy Johnson, chief executive and chief financial officer of Loring Hospital in Sac City, announced her resignation effective March 1.
