As the nation works to recover from the economic downturn, it looks to hospitals for leadership. This is a role that can neither be denied nor taken lightly. After all, hospitals cannot simply re-organize, seek out a new direction or implement a new business plan. As top employers and keystones to the state and local economic and social infrastructure, hospitals must simply always be there, every day, all day.
Yet, within these challenging times lies opportunity. Within this adversity are multiple advantages. This is a time when hospitals can and are renewing their mission-guided commitment to their patients, staff and communities. This is a time when hospitals once again exhibit the courage to innovate and reinvent the processes and cultures that will take health care in Iowa and the nation to a higher plane.
It is IHA’s mission to support hospitals’ commitment to renew and their courage to reinvent. And so IHA presents its 80th Annual Meeting and Trade Show. With outstanding keynote speakers and breakout sessions that address the most pressing issues, the IHA Annual Meeting offers the expertise, tools and opportunities that hospitals need to lead.
For 80 years, IHA has welcomed Iowa’s hospitals leaders to its Annual Meetings and countless opportunities for education and friendship. In 2009, those opportunities have never been more numerous or more important. Through dozens of presentations across three days of learning and networking, hospital administrators, managers and trustees will find real value in this year’s conference. In the trade show exhibitor hall, representatives of more than 50 companies will be on hand, ready to answer questions, share ideas and offer their experience and service.
We trust that at this year’s IHA Annual Meeting, you will enjoy the unity of spirit and purpose that has allowed IHA to continually meet the needs and expectations of Iowa’s hospitals.
