Program Proposal Form

2008 IHA Annual Meeting & Trade Show

October 7-9, 2008, Des Moines, IA

Due April 11, 2008

Thank you for your interest in presenting an education session for IHA's 2008 Annual Meeting & Trade Show! Please take a few moments to complete the following questions and information regarding your session proposal. Once we have received the completed form, our committee will review the information and contact you if the content and suggested session(s) is applicable to our membership and accepted for the Annual Meeting & Trade Show.

PLEASE NOTE: When completing this form please know that any content leader names you provide are assumed to have already agreed to speak at the Annual Meeting should the session be accepted.

As you develop your session, please focus on the following:

  1. Panels should not exceed four people (including the moderator).
  2. Attendees are looking for NEW ways of doing things in their job function. What can you offer in your domain that would be a new buzz?
  3. Attendees expect the session title and description to exactly match what is actually covered in the education session. When submitting your proposal, be sure that your ideas are flushed out fully enough so that 4-6 months later when the Annual Meeting is upon us, what you promised is what you deliver.
  4. Attendees are looking to you as the content leader for the solutions. If much of the education session is designed to be spent in dialogue and brainstorming at session tables where the majority of the information is actually coming from the participants in the room, please indicate that in your session proposal so we may market it properly
  5. Similarly, if there is no attendee interaction and the session is really just an opportunity to learn from an experienced panel, for instance, please indicate that as well.
  6. Attendees truly know when speakers are not prepared. If you are intending to work with several people to make your session come together be sure you each have the time to commit to working together in advance of the program and meeting all speaker deadlines.

PLEASE NOTE that you will not have an opportunity to save and edit your work. As such, we recommend you fill out your information in a Word document so that you can edit, spell check and save for your records. Once you have all the information then simply return to the online form to submit your completed proposal.
